Journey through the bytes
I don't see you
You don't see me
Living under the same dimension
We are netizens

Reach out to each other, commune in optical bleam
Silent emoticon, I see your smiley face :)
How are you doing pal?
Cold cursor blinked a
warm greeting
Your online existence, hold strong to my virtual conviction
-- You do exist;
You do exist...

At first, there was total darkness on the beach.  Then tranquility was broken, by spots of light, who came by, interrupted the peace, competed their glorious with the starry sky. They interacted, combined, and parted in molecular motion.  We know that there is something more than random nature, it is the tendency of lights to stay up close -- to light up each other through darkness.

Men are problem solvers and women are sentimentalists:

To prove his love, he climbed the tallest mountain, swam the deepest sea, and crossed the widest desert; but at the end, she is still leaving him, coz he was never home.

This is a piece of humorous poem that I've found from a product caterlogue

"You are my everything.
Never leave me.
I'm treely sorry for all the times I barked up in our relationship.
You say you want 2 put down roots,
well, I'm hear to stay...
You don't have to branch out and I don't want a forest...
I only want you, my big woody lover..."

A day with occasional shower.  Busy at work.  Something is pulling my heartstring.

Read about Wong Kar Wai's comment about music pieces in his movies, they serve to provide the tone, the coloration, the timeline and rythm of his production.  They react like chemicals with the plot, to give an air of obscurity.

Paris 1962[ 0 messages]

Went for a photo exhibition yesterday with TM. I was really impressed by a street photo taken in Paris by William Klien on Nov 11, 1962 -- a black and white photo of two couples and a by-passing folk staring at the camera (unforturnately can't find that piece online). It was probably taken by wide angle 35mm, which Klien is fond of.  I wonder if it was plain coincidence that the subjects were photographed in such a compact picture frame, yet each one is revealing a unique instant of their own story.

Interesting to see photographic works from another end of the globe and indeed from another era.  The exhibition really has enriched my senses and enlightened me.

BUN festival, Cheung Chau Island -- I was soaked to the skin under the 32C hot sun!  Heavy sun-tan on the face, on my neck, and on both arms!!!  My camera was like a hot plate, cooking my hands for hours.

Yeah...dispite all the suffering, the day was kinda FUNSpecial thanks to Wong Sir who offered us the [photographer permit]. That ID hanging on the neck allowed us to sneak into formations of the carnival and take more photos without feeling guilty!

Eternity[ 0 messages]

I read about a place which is the center of time.  In this center,  time stops.  Time flows steadly faster as one moves further away from the center of time, like ripples propagated from a spot.

Right at the center, things becomes completely motionless.  Holding hands, hugs and tender kisses would exist in eternity.  This fact attracts countless people to get closer to this center in search of eternal love, eternal life.  However, as they get closer, their motion become sluggish.  A smile near the center will take years.  A kiss will take a decade.  Light frequency is slowed down from dim to darkness -  there is no light at the center.

So, what does life means without time?  Is eternity a blessing or a curse?  Time passing by is a sorrow, yet eternity... perhaps eternity is nothing more than a dead butterfly in its specimen box.

So, how do we see Time?[ 0 messages]

We are seeing different images as we live. Interesting enough, it only takes 25 images in a second inorder to fool us thinking that we see time passing by.  So, do we care about what happens in between these 1/25 seconds?  Do we FEEL these gaps?

I see cameras as extensions to my visual senses, they extend my capability of SEEING things, with either a fraction of my normal senses, or with a prolonged visual delay, a perspective shift; perhaps I should also mention the color distortion, which is the tranformation of light wavelength due to different photographic processes. That at least gives us visions of time beyond our own.  Yet, the most important of all, camera keeps the memory of the moment from being lost in time tunnel.

Tick ...tick...time has no sound, nor does it inundate life together with our precious memories.  It's perhaps we human beings who consign time with this fresh and soul.

Louis recommended me to read a novel about time.  The author suggests models of different cosmos where time and Einstein's physics are distorted.  A world where time flows backward, time frozen world, a world where end of time is known, a world without quantitative time...etc.  It tries to look at time through various dissections and try to observe human reactions to these mutated worlds.  Hopefully through these fantasy reveries, we can build up more insight into this otherwise intangible term from humanity point of view.  So what time means to us?  What is eternity? What is the purpose of time?  I think we are seeking more questions than answers in understanding time.
