Definitely has changed quite a bit since I was here in 2001. Now it is a town specially for cruise ships visitors. A bit commericalized yet it is still a very enjoyable port to hang around.... as long as you don't stay too long.

Pigeon Island (Guvercin Adasi), the symbol of Kusadasi, is connected to the mainland by a causeway, but is usually closed to the public.
The island was used for military purposes during the Ottoman Era and before. The Byzantine castle standing on the rocks, used against pirates, is known as "Pirate Castle".
