Vincent Poon :: Christian Quarter (1 to 5-Sep)

As the gateway between the Old and the New City, the Christian Quarter is perhaps the most visited part of all quarters.

At its heart is the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and surrounding it you will find churches and hospices and also stalls and stores for candles and souvenirs for pilgrims. The cafes at the Muristan area will perhaps be a nice place to chill out.

Mosque of Omar, where Caliph Omar prayed outside in the courtyard of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre after the siege of Jerusalem where the Byzantine Empire surrendered Jerusalem to the Muslim
I didn't know a cat could use a straw... anyway he did not look too happy for me to stay around and find out further...
New Gate, the newest (1887) of all the 7 gates. It was built at the highest point of the present wall, at 790 metres above sea level.

Entrance of the church. You could walk up to the bell tower for a great view of the old city
After dinner one night when I was getting back to the hostel I bumped into a live concert in the Muristan area
and the atmosphere was really good, people were just gathering and enjoying the moment
