Like most capital cities, Ljubljana was never intended to be our primary focus during our stay in Slovenia given our limited time there.
 
We didn't have time for the museums nor the castles and it turned out that the highlights were really the architectural gems and the lively markets.

The Town Hall was built in the late 15th century and renovated in 1719.
Just inside the entrance is a 17th-century statue of Hercules wielding a club and preparing to batter a wild beast.
The Gothic courtyard inside, arcaded on three levels, is where theatrical performances once took place.
Mojca Pokrajculja is the title of the Carinthian folk tale and there was an exhibition of it in the Town Hall at our time of visit
