Saturday 31st July 2010 04:00:38 PM A Summer Afternoon[ 0 messages] Travel It was one of those leisurely summer afternoon. The wind, bringing the air from the Pacific Ocean, was refreshing. It was slightly fishy though, and reminded me of Cheung Chau. A cup of ice-tea was just perfect for someone like me, who enjoyed the sunny blue sky sitting at the pier, doing nothing but watching people walking by at the fish market. Wish you were there! |

Saturday 10th July 2010 06:43:06 AM An Evening, Canadian style[ 0 messages] Travel Strolling along the harbor-front of this island one evening, I took this shot. We took a boat ride across the Vancouver harbor to come to this island, where Canadians are typically laid back, enjoying the evening at their leisure. I think the Victoria harbor of HK is still the best. Prejudice, she said. |

Monday 25th May 2009 11:39:21 AM Rockport MA[ 0 messages] Travel
Had day trip to Rockport, MA. It's next to the wellknown fishing village, Gloucester, north east of Boston. There are lots of galleries, but most of the pic are very commercialised, different from those in museums. What stricked most was the salty sea winds with a kind of fishy odor. People who grow up in fishing villages would recognise it easily. It reminded me right a way of Cheung Chau. I didn't recall this special odor in Cape Cod. We did not have fish for dinner, but I didn't mind going up further to Maine for some lobsters. |
Sunday 24th May 2009 11:11:46 AM BBQ[ 0 messages] Travel
A combined business and personal trip have brought me to Boston again. After a few hectic days, it is nice to have some fun today. We went to visit a friend at the Boston Suburb, a small town called Marlborough. The BBQ food was delicious, but it was very interesting that we met a family visiting from HK. They happened to be the owner of the Kinming Glass and Frame Co at Wellington St, Central. It's next to Yum Kee and Lan Qua Fong. Of course every HKese knows Wellington St of Central District, especially me, who lived up there not far away. It is just a small world. I was told that the camera and lenses are much cheaper in HK. That is one more reason for me to visit HK sometime later this year when the weather is cool. Looking for a place to stay for 1-2 months. Any offer? . . |
Saturday 21st February 2009 02:56:50 AM Visiting my sister[ 0 messages] Travel My sister and her family are out of town for a retreat this long weekend. I offer them to baby sit their house and their cat. The place is very quiet. The sky is blue and clear after raining for two days. The breeze coming from the Pacific ocean is refreshing. I take a walk in the sun along the clean pavement of a wide and quiet street, forgetting completely the snow and chilly cold in Boston. Lemons are hanging from the trees. Some little flowers are sticking out their heads for a peep of the blue sky, while others are budding, seem in a hurry to welcome the coming of spring! I cannot resist the urge of taking some photos, despite what I have is only the poor little Canon IXUS 750. I do the best I can , while the nature is smiling . The cat is staring at me too, showing off her big fat tommy for a pic. OK, I'll shot a few for you and will post them on the net. . . |
Friday 20th February 2009 02:25:53 PM Huntington Beach, California[ 0 messages] Travel My brother and my sister-in-law had a flu today. So, I took their car to explore the area. It was a nice drive along the Pacific Seashore Blvd. The Huntington Beach was only 2 minutes away from their house. It was a very long sandy beach on this side of the Pacific Ocean. Today was cold and windy, and there were only a few fishmen and strollers there. I took a walk on the beach and several deep breath of the fresh air. The seagulls were good companies, flying high in the open sky. The round red sun was almost on the horizon of the Pacific Ocean, and the sunset scene was always majestic and magnificient. I felt like I was in heaven! Suddenly, my cell phone rang, woke me up from my dream. " I will come to pick you up at home for dinner in twenty minutes. Can you be home ontime?" I quickly took a few pic and left unwillingly. For sure, I will come back with a better camera in order to capture what I saw and what I was feeling! My friends, you have to put up with these pic for now. . . |

Saturday 29th November 2008 08:49:24 AM Sunset at Boston[ 0 messages] Travel Specially for you, Sunset at Boston from Squantum. Quincy¡K¡K¡K. Sunset at the Charles River of Boston is spectacular. The skyline matches that of the Victoria Harbor of HK. For me, sunset at Boston, as viewed from Squantun, Quincy, had special meaning............. For a moment, I lost. Thanks to you, I found my direction and my destination . Your hugs and smiles provided me with warmth and courage in the cold daek night. Sense of humor had replaced the fear and anxiety of surgery. Days after surgery were like a vacation, neither pain nor pathology report could stop us from joking or laughing since. While being turned away at the ¿P¨Ê¹Ï®Ñ舘 and watching "Quantum of Solace" were disappointments, together with you made the day. Rain and darkness might prevent us from taking photos at Wellesley, but not at the Quincy cemetery and the beach. How could I hold myself back from singing at the karaoke and in the church? How could I hold myself back from singing from the bottom of my heart, after listening to your gifted voice singing my favorite songs!? So long for now, but sunset at Boston from Squantum, Quincy, will stay with me forever! Boston Harbor Boston Skyline Sunset at Boston, from Squantum, Quincy Picture Album ¬Û³¡¦b¦¹ |
