When you wake up on my face, with
fidgeting sleep trapped in your eyes,
I feel like slipping down snowy peaks
and see you shiver,
in the spray of speckled mist.
And then I lie placid, untouched
by your thin chiming voice;
And you prick me, with lil stings of yours
Just like lilliputtian arrows
on Gulliver's chest.
And you grow over me,
Shading the world, in droplets of light,
and a herd of shadows, caught
in your swaying hair locks.

your lips shine like ripe red berries,
dripping with dew and trembling like leaves;
Turning me into one queer shade of purple,
soft fuzzy eyes in dim golden light.
You turn, and walk with soft paws,
soaking me in deep envious greens;
of a gentlest breeze, to sip on your warmth,
grinning at me with blinking eyes.
And I'm reborn, folded in time;
to float my arms and paddle the space,
with an infant's wonder,
and a stubborn child's cry.

May thee be blessed, for
this wonderous miracle;
of flaming passion, as you dance
on floating wings, and tapping feet.
Ah, smile! you do beaming,
frothing innocence flows;
All the while scheming, ah yes!
How to knock down my halo.
Shall I compare thee, to a summers day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate.

William Shakespeare - Sonnet 18
